Air-robics features a lot of the same moves as a gym classes—lunges, squats, jumping jacks—but on a trampoline. While other movements performed are specifically created for the trampoline. Air-robics is an exercise class that’s a total-body workout. When you perform a workout on a trampoline, you have to engage muscles throughout your whole body in order to stay balanced. This builds strength all over while burning even more calories than if you were doing them on the ground. Another major benefit is that it’s a low-impact workout—the trampoline absorbs 80 percent of the shock. That means it’s much easier on your joints.

According to the Well Being Journal, 20 minutes of rebounding (exercise on a trampoline) is equal to 1 hour of running, from a cardiovascular perspective. The Well Being Journal also says that trampoline exercise is a better way to detoxify your body than normal grounded workouts because the vertical movement helps pump the flow in your lymphatic system to clear out metabolic waste from your cells. The vertical up-and-down movement of rebounding has been reported to increase lymph flow by 15-30 times. Rebounding also strengthens the immune system by increasing the activity of immune cells by up to 5 times.
